Troubleshoot modern vehicles

To troubleshoot modern vehicles, service personnel utilize what are referred to as auto scan test tools to investigate and report on the ADD71of any errant component in real-time.

In the mid-90s, a standard called OBD-1 was released to the public. This set of codes primarily focused on emissions and fuel efficiency reporting. Then, in the early 2000s, the industry added another set of standards referred to as OBD-2, which produced the ability to report on most if not all electronic or sensor components in the car. Cost of these test tools can range from a few hundred to several thousand dollars, depending on the sophistication of the test unit.
